Communication is value creation
The Swedish Public Relations Association has been involved in the research and development of intangibles as value creation since mid 90's. Communication indicators as reputation, brands, image, motivation, relationships etc. are parts of the total palett of intangibles which are used for managing, measuring and reporting of a company's ability to survive in the future. Those indicators have become essential on the capital market as well as the consumer market. Meritum
A great interest in this issue followed in 1997 when a European project called Meritum (Measuring the intangibles to understand and improve innovation management) was initiated in EU. Six countries (Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Spain, France) nine universities and thirty researchers have been involved in the project.
